Our Africa DAY Celebration Recap

The Afrika Day event was a great success. Students learned about Patrice Lumumba, Sekou Toure, Cheik Anta Diop, Queen Nzinga, Kwame Nkrumah, Queen Amina, Nefertari, Queen Yaa Asantewaa, Nelson Mandela, Haile Gerima, and the lists goes on and on. We are celebrating the contribution of powerful men and women on the continent, learning what resources are in the nation, and teaching the children to love the cultural food. Here is a replay of student presentations as well as a video slideshow. Enjoy!

Afrika DAY 2013 TODAY

It’s that time again to celebrate the brilliance of our Ancestors as our St. Sya Students present the research they have gathered from African nations and persons of influence.  Join us from 11am to 2pm. Students  will be dress in Afrikan garbs and showcasing their knowledge through spoken lines and Essay presentations.

The showcase is followed by an Afrikan Feast of traditional Afrikan foods prepared by St. Sya Parents. This event is open to the community.
