The Afrika Day event was a great success. Students learned about Patrice Lumumba, Sekou Toure, Cheik Anta Diop, Queen Nzinga, Kwame Nkrumah, Queen Amina, Nefertari, Queen Yaa Asantewaa, Nelson Mandela, Haile Gerima, and the lists goes on and on. We are celebrating the contribution of powerful men and women on the continent, learning what resources are in the nation, and teaching the children to love the cultural food.
